PNG to JPG FAQ

Which output format does this page produce?

Uploaded PNG files are converted to JPG, and the output selector on each file card lists .jpg only. Choose a PNG target on the JPG to PNG page when transparency or untouched pixels matter.

What happens to the transparent areas of a PNG?

JPG has no transparency channel, so transparent pixels are filled with a solid colour in the result. Pick a PNG or WebP target when the transparency has to survive.

Does converting PNG to JPG reduce image quality?

Yes. JPG compresses with some loss, so fine detail is re-encoded while the file gets much smaller. This page has no quality control, so every file is exported at the same default compression level.

Can I convert several PNG files at once?

Yes. Add more than one .png file, run the batch conversion from the bottom bar, and download the results together as a ZIP or one file at a time.

Are my PNG files uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs locally in your browser, so the images stay on your device and are not sent to a conversion server.
