GIF compression FAQ
Is my GIF uploaded?
No. The GIF is processed locally in your browser and stays on your device.
What does lossless optimization do?
It rewrites GIF data for a smaller file without intentionally changing the image pixels. O1 is the fastest preset; O3 can take longer.
What does the lossy amount mean?
Higher values generally produce smaller files with more visible image artifacts. Values around 30–60 are a practical starting point.
Can I reduce the GIF color palette?
Yes. Enable Reduce colors and choose 256, 128, 64, or 32 colors. Fewer colors can reduce file size but changes the image.
