Barcode generator FAQ

Which barcode formats are available?

The format selector includes 110 barcode types, including Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, UPC-A, Data Matrix, QR Code, PDF417, postal formats, and composite formats. Each format has its own data rules, so the same value may not work for every selection.

What does Scale change?

Scale controls the width of each barcode module in the generated image. The available range is 1× to 10×. A larger scale produces a larger barcode while keeping the selected format and encoded value unchanged.

What does Height control?

Height controls the bar height in millimeters for formats that use a linear bar area. The available range is 1 to 100 mm. Two-dimensional formats may use the setting differently because their layout is not a single row of bars.

What does Margin control?

Margin adds quiet space around the generated barcode. It can be set from 0 to 100 mm. A clear surrounding area helps keep the barcode separate from nearby content when it is scanned.

What does Show readable text do?

When enabled, the barcode value is drawn as human-readable text below or near the symbol when the selected format supports it. It changes the appearance of the output, not the encoded value.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG is a raster image that is convenient for documents and quick sharing. SVG is a scalable vector file that is useful when the barcode will be resized or placed in print and design layouts.

Why does a selected format reject my value?

Barcode standards accept different character sets, lengths, and checksum rules. If generation fails, try a value that follows the selected format or choose a more flexible format such as Code 128.

Is the barcode value uploaded?

The page generates the barcode from the value entered in the browser and does not provide an upload step for the barcode content.
